Job Details
Reporting to the Director you will be responsible for providing Family Dispute Resolution services to the Perth community for primarily separated couples, on a fee for service basis.

You will have a strong interest in assisting couples to resolve their issues out of Court with a focus on child centred/inclusive practice.

You will recognise that possessing excellent communication skills is key to assisting separated couples to improve their communication and co-parenting alliance.

You will be an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with ideally a tertiary qualification in a complementary field, such a psychology, as there will also be counselling and general mediation work available according to the needs of the clients.

You will be proactive, flexible and able to work autonomously. In return, you will work in a harmonious, modern, structured, friendly and supportive environment.

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution practitioner with the Attorney General's Department.
  • Good problem solving, case management and assessment skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in co-operation with the Director/Principal Mediator, staff and other relevant stakeholders as well as independently.
  • Highly developed time management and organisation skills.

Desirable criteria include:

  • Experience as a Family Dispute Resolution practitioner.
  • Counselling skills and experience for individuals, couples and families.
  • Willingness to work after hours when necessary to meet the needs of clients.
  • Willingness and capability to undertake marketing activities to promote our service throughout Western Australia.

Remuneration is negotiable, either permanent part-time or base rate + commission, and will be awarded based on the applicants experience and qualifications. 

The position is part-time, ordinarily two to three days per week to start, with the opportunity to transition to full time (if desired) as the practice continues to grow.
